Detail & Specs
M4X0.7 Metric Cup Point Allen Set Screw
Measured by overall length, an allen socket hex drive is used to tighten this set screw. Set screws are commonly used in tight areas, sitting flush with or below the work surface.
Cup point set screws have a concave indentation at one end. The cupped edge of the concave helps secure the set screw into place by digging to the contact surface material. This point style also helps prevent loosening from vibration.
For use in compression only, not for tensile or shear loads. Set screws can be used as an
easy-to-install alternative to full thread studs because they have an internal allen socket drive at one end for compression use only.
Also known as an allen drive type set screw with cup point, blind screw, fully threaded internal drive headless allen fastener. Set Screws can also be used as allen drive studs to be used in tight areas.
Finish
A black oxide finish provides minimal corrosion resistance, best for indoor, dry environments. This finish is not suitable for outdoor applications, and will rust when exposed to moisture.
