Bi-Directional All Metal Locking Hex Nut
3 squeeze points where the inner threading is distorted to pinch the bolt when screwed on to a nut. This secures the fastener assembly in place and prevents loosening caused by continuous vibration.
Unlike a conical metal lock nut where the domed / chamfered edge must always be installed from one side, BILOC nuts can be installed from either direction. Biloc nuts are considered a non-standard part, but are based on the dimensional specifications for DIN 980 / ISO 7042.
Material
Hardened Class 10 metric lock nuts provide a high strength, high tensile fastening solution. Commonly paired with Class 10.9 metric bolts and screws. The all metal construction is better for higher temperature installations where a nylon-insert lock nut might fail. Zinc Plated finish provides corrosion resistance without sacrificing strength.
